WHO WE ARE

The Guidance Center, founded in 1958, is a behavioral health and human services organization dedicated to the mental well-being of children, adults and families in Southeast Michigan. Our programs — including early intervention services for infants, parenting skills, substance abuse and mental health counseling, literacy and juvenile justice — serve more than 20,000 people each year.

Using a unique unified model of services, The Guidance Center provides a continuum of services for its clients within a single system, making services accessible and affordable. We are a private, non-profit agency, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations and supported by third-party insurance, private pay, and public and private grants. The Guidance Center is a 501 (c)(3) agency operating with a $34 million annual budget.
