At The Guidance
Center, 'results' means real, life-changing successes. We
design programs to help clients enhance their lives in meaningful
ways. We then monitor and evaluate each program to be sure it
lives up to, or surpasses, its promise. Finally, we
continually listen to our clients and refine our services to meet
their needs — and those of future clients — more effectively.

Because new ideas in
human services can have an immediate positive impact on those we
serve, The Guidance Center is committed to being a leader in service
innovation. The Center for Excellence is an outgrowth of this
commitment — a conference and research facility dedicated to
evaluating current programs, creating fresh approaches and training
tomorrow's social-work professionals.

The 9,600 square-foot
Center for Excellence houses a 90-seat state-of-the-art amphitheater,
resource library, conference room, discussion room, display areas and
work cubicles. In partnership with the University of Michigan
School of Social Work, we apply these resources to develop practical
solutions to real-world human service needs.
The Center for
Excellence provides a place for us to measure our performance, test our
thinking and explore new approaches to serving our clients. The
goal: to continually redefine "Best Practices" in our field, while
providing the most effective services possible to our clients.
